Calorie Gallery

WHAT YOU NEED
10 or more matching cards from both the green and white decks
THE COMPILER
chooses 10 or more green cards & sorts them face-down lowest to highest – keep the values secret
THE SOLVERS
look for the same white cards (the Compiler tells them which ones) & they put them face-up lowest to highest
THE COMPILER
checks the cards and turns over any green cards that have a matching white card in the right place
THE SOLVERS
take more ‘Goes’ by moving the white cards that are not in the right places until they are all matching
HOW MANY GOES
does it take the Solvers to match all the cards Low to High?
TAKE TURNS AS COMPILER
to see which team of Solvers takes the fewest goes to get the cards in the right order

High Low

WHAT YOU NEED
the green deck and the 100gram bag……… and a strong nerve!
THE DEALER
puts one card face up in front of the player to his left who is holding the 100g bag. The dealer asks “HIGHER”, “LOWER” or “PASS”?
DOES THE NEXT CARD
have a higher calorie value? Or is it lower? The player shows what they think by placing the bag – “HIGHER” or “LOWER”
OR IS THE PLAYER
not sure and wants to “PASS”, in which case the player collects and keeps the cards in front of them
IF THE PLAYER IS RIGHT
they have another ‘Go’ and choose higher, lower or pass, again
IF THE PLAYER IS WRONG
the dealer keeps the cards . The rest of the deck is passed to the player on the left who was the player. They are now the ‘dealer’
THE GAME CONTINUES
clockwise with the next players being the dealer and player until there are no cards left in the deck
THE WINNER IS
the player with the most cards when all have been turned over and claimed

Matching Pairs

WHAT YOU NEED
Either the ‘Low’, ‘Medium’ or ‘High’ Calorie Category Cards from the green deck and the same food cards from the white deck
HOW BRAVE ARE YOU?
If you are feeling brave use two categories or even all the cards
HIGH, MEDIUM or LOW
is marked on each green card in the top left corner - Red/High, Amber/Medium, Green/Low
LAY ALL
the chosen cards face down and mix them up
THE FIRST PLAYER
turns over a green card and a white card. If the cards are a matching pair, the player keeps the cards and has another go
IF NOT
the cards are put back face down into their original position and the player to their left has a ‘Go’ ………..and so on
THE GAME CONTINUES
clockwise with the next players being the dealer and player until there are no cards left in the deck
THE WINNER IS
the player who has collected the most pairs of cards when all cards have been matched

PlateMate

WHAT YOU NEED
*Matching cards from the green and white deck *PlateMate cards *True/False cards *Coloured counters
THE PLATEMATE CARD
has 5 Food Types, Treats & Drinks
START PLAYING
in the same way as Matching Pairs
WHEN A PLAYER MATCHES
a pair they choose a ‘True’ or ‘False’ question of a Food Type shown on the green card of their pair
IF THEY GET IT RIGHT
they win that coloured counter which they put on their ‘PlateMate’ card; they get another ‘Go’ at turning up cards
IF THEY GET IT WRONG
they must wait until their next ‘Go’ to match cards and answer another question
THE GAME CONTINUES
clockwise with the next players being the dealer and player until there are no cards left in the deck

Food Snap

WHAT YOU NEED
Green deck only. Choose which of the five Food Types on the grey plate you wish to ‘Snap’ on
THE CHOICES ARE
Carbohydrates (yellow), Oils (purple), Dairy (blue), Meat (pink) or Fruit/Veg (green) or any combination
DIVIDE THE CARDS
equally between the 2 players. Each player holds their cards face down
PLAYING THE GAME
each player turns over their first card. They shout “SNAP” if there’s a matching food type
THE FIRST PLAYER
to say “SNAP” correctly keeps the cards from both turned over piles and adds them to the bottom of their pile of cards
PLAY CONTINUES
THE WINNER IS
the player with the most cards when all have been turned over and claimed

Real Meal Deal

WHAT YOU NEED
The green deck and a ‘PlateMate’ Card each for reference
AIM OF THE GAME
make a ‘Complete Meal’ by collecting 7 cards: the 5 food types, a drink & a treat. Each card counts as on only!
SHUFFLE & DEAL
the cards face-down. Each player has 7 cards which they keep secret.
REMAINING CARDS
are placed face down in the draw pile. Turn the top card over face-up to start the discard pile
THE FIRST PLAYER
to the left of the dealer plays first and can either pick up one card from the draw pile or the discard pile
NEXT
the player must throw away a card onto the discard pile to keep only 7 cards
PLAY CONTINUES
with the next player on the left until someone calls out ‘Real Meal’ – they have collected the 5 food types + a drink & a treat
SCORING
A Real Meal scores 1.000 points less high calorie food values. Download a score sheet below
